New Site & New Blog! ~ North Idaho Photographer

Finally! After working all weekend until 1:00 am every morning, I have finished my new website!!! I am so excited and happy to have this done!!! I couldn't have picked a worse time to update with the holidays and everything going on.....but sometimes when I think my plate is full I add another couple helpings! Crazy, I know....but, that's how I roll sometimes. Click on my logo below and it will take you there! (NOTE: I will be adding Senior Grad & Wedding info later on this month....so stay tuned!)

I have also finished (with some help from an awesome designer) my new blog! I have a few things to add to it still....but wanted to get everything up and running. This will be my last post on this blog....sad to see it go.....but yet so excited! I hope you enjoy!!! Any feedback (good AND bad) would be AWESOME and very much appreciated!!! :-) Happy Monday!

Baby Jack ~ North Idaho Newborn Photographer

Last week right before Christmas I took pictures of this darling little guy. His mama told me that he was a great sleeper and pictures should be a snap! (no pun intended!) Well.....as it turns out, he might have been a great sleeper, but when I showed up he didn't want nothing to do with me or my camera! And he let me know it too! Well, that and he wasn't happy about not being swaddled up! He was wide awake for almost two hours just watching and listening to me and his mama chat away.....which by the way was AWESOME!...not him being awake...but the conversation! Thanks B!

Finally he drifted off to sleep.....not a deep sleep so that we could try some really hard poses with him AND wear the hat I made for this session....but a good sleep to where I did get some cute pictures of him! Thanks so much B for having me out to capture this precious time of baby Jack! He is such a doll just like his big brother! Here is your sneak peek! Enjoy!!!

Hi!

I don't know about you, but I am so glad Christmas is over! And although I love my holiday music, once Christmas is done....so am I with everything holiday! I am so ready to start the New Year!!!

I am still working on getting my website finished and my blog updated.....lots of work....but hoping it will be worth it!!! Just posting a few today of the Bells......our little Diva......not sure if I feel sorry for her future boyfriends or not.......nah.....don't think so! Good luck to any boy that can keep up with her.....lol.......ha!

ACK!!! My website is officially down! My luck......the site got transferred over the holidays and I can not have it updated until Monday! So I am hoping no one goes to my website because they will get a blank icky going nowhere page! But in the meantime....the blog is still live...although that will also be getting updated shortly! AND here is a darling little cutie that you will see on my splash page once my site gets back up and running! I could take pictures of this little ham ALL DAY LONG! Isn't he gorgeous!?!?! I think so.......

Rookie Mistake.....

Rookie mistake????

This is the first year that I have decided that it is just plain out cruel to wrap presents a week or more before Christmas. Last night we finally got our tree decorated and after the kids went to bed, I really got into the Christmas spirit and was up until midnight wrapping presents. This morning I was sitting in my office and my son came in with eyes the size of quarters and with such AWE, he said, "Santa came last night!" He had seen all the wrapped presents. He proceeded to sit under the tree and stare at all of them trying to find his name on just ONE of them! I tried to explain that those were for his daddy, cousins, grandma's and grandpa's, etc....I thought he might have understood. He did for a short while this morning.....proceeded to get dressed for preschool.....and out the door we went.

This afternoon upon arriving home, he saw the presents again and wanted to know if any were for him.....I told him I thought one was for him, but mommy still had some wrapping to do. In the middle of typing this post, he ran into the office with sparkly eyes and said, "Thank you mom! You got me a coffee mug!"......oh crap. He could not resist and opened one that had his name on it......what he didn't read was the "To: Daddy" part....he just saw the "Love: Owen" part. He must have forgot we bought that for daddy last week! Uh....yeah...Ryan was in the office too........Merry Christmas EARLY Daddy! So Owen and I had a little talk....both of us almost in tears...I tried my best to explain that he had to wait for Christmas....and he cried, "But my name was on it!".....I told him he still had to wait....to which he replied, "I just can't wait that long!!!!!"

Sigh......ANOTHER rookie mistake I have made as a mom.....I remember how tough it was to wait now that I look back. The presents sparkling under the tree just taunting you to open them! Whether they were yours or not....they HAD to be opened! A seasoned mom would know this....but it either flew over my head....or I was so naive about the whole thing. Either way, my heart went out to my sweet little angel bug....I am so sorry you didn't understand son. But don't worry.....Christmas will be here soon enough!!!

No happy smiles today from The Big "O".......so I am going to share one from last week....BEFORE there were presents under the tree.......

SSSSHHHHH!!!! Don't wake the Princess!

This morning we were running late (as usual) and sissy was still asleep.....so I called to her from the kitchen....."Time to wake up Bella! Get out of bed please!"......no response......so I sent her brother over to go open her door and tell her that it was time to get up......so he did and still no response......so I marched over towards her room and half way there I heard heavy stomping.....and out came the Princess from her room.....hair going every which way.....a scowl on her face.....hands on her hips.....and she immediately barked at me....."Hey! What's the big idea?!?!......I didn't get enough rest!"

WHAT? Is this what the upcoming years are going to be like? I have a feeling much worse....especially since she is showing signs of her mama when woken up too early! YIKES! Sorry Princess Bella for waking you up.....but when you go to bed late (10:00!) then you are tired the next morning!

This one is not a scowly, you woke me up too early face......but a what the heck, deer in headlights face that makes me laugh! Perfect for my day of trying to get my new website transferred over to my new hosting company.....what the heck?!?!?! I never knew it would be such a confusing mess!!!!

Happy Monday!

WARNING! This blog may be a bit stale the month of December....ugh. I have been so busy! We finally got the Christmas decorations up.....and our Charlie Brown tree is waiting to be decorated. Cookies and candy are on the list this week and present wrapping next week.

The kids are having fun watching all their Christmas movies and participating in the holiday traditions.....uh....well......yeah.......SOME of those traditions. One of MY traditions that I started with the kids is taking their pictures in their Santa hat every year. I LOVE it.....the kids?....not so much. But they entertain their mama anyways and put the hat on......but I am always lucky if I get ONE cute decent smile out of them! This year I got lucky with some cute smiles and will share those later....but I also get a lot of funny, goofy ones! Especially from Mr Funny Man himself.......who informed me after watching The Christmas Story that he wanted a Red Rider BB Gun for Christmas......um.....maybe in a few years. His sister also wants a Red Rider BB Gun.....but Owen didn't think that was a good idea.....he told her, "No, Bella! You'll shoot your eye out!" Oh! So wise at such a young age....lol.....but OH! SO CUTE!

How did it get to be Friday already!?!?! Ack! This week went by much too fast for me.....I am sure it didn't help NOT having my computer!!! But now it's back.....Yeah!!!

One announcement for today.......I just wanted to let everyone know that I am going to be getting a new look coming up this new year!!! I am not sure how long it will take, but I am going to be creating a new website AND along with that, a new blog! I have been working on it for the last month....but with all the holiday sessions it isn't moving very fast! But I am super excited! So.....that means my website will be temporarily down for a while....but this blog will still be up and running!!!! So please, don't be alarmed if you go to stacibaileyphotography.com and there's just one page...or worse....no link! I am hoping it won't be down for very long....but wanted to give you a heads up!!! I will post on this blog when my site is "officially" under construction....but for now it's still there! :-)

While getting ready for Christmas I was able to go thru some old folders......and in doing so, I found these two little gems! This is my cousin's little girl on her 1st birthday back in July! I just love her blue eyes!.....sand and all! I could take pictures of them all day!!!

She just woke up from a nap....she is just so cute!

Hi! I am back up and running.....finally!.......Real quick I need to send out a GIGANTIC THANK YOU!!! to my cousin from Sandpoint.com...I don't know how many times he has saved my behind from power crashes....too many....Thanks B! Love ya!

Now that my baby is back and alive, I can finally share my session from two weekends ago......I really wanted to share with you on Sunday....pesky power outage......so I suppose....better late than never!

This darling little girl was the sweetest little thing ever! AND I see where she gets it! Her mama is one of the nicest gals I have ever met! Just sweet and super nice....it truly was a pleasure working with both of these girls!

Computer Down...

Hi! I hope everyone is staying warm in this icky super cold weather we are having! This weekend our power went out and along with that so did my computer! ACK! That means no new posts until I get my baby back up and running....which is hopefully soon because I am going crazy! I can't believe how much I rely on my computer!

However, on the upside....my last session is edited and ready to share......I just need a computer to post the photos! (I am at the library right now posting this).....AND with no computer I am actually getting some other stuff done around the house!!!! I just donated a bunch of clothes to different organizations in Sandpoint and there were some brand new 3 mo old baby BOY clothes in there.....our "baby boy" is 4-1/2! Yes....definitely a good time to get cleaned out and organized!

Also, over the last week I have received many phone calls for sessions.....yay! Thank YOU!..... unfortunately I am not taking any more sessions for December unless they are newborns....BUT if you or anyone you know are looking for an awesome present to give that special someone this Christmas.....I do offer Staci Bailey Photography gift certificates!!!! Brrrrrr!

Brrrrrr! It's cold outside! Winter is officially here! And Christmas is just right around the corner! AND the New Year! WOW! Where did this year go? Crazy how fast times flies....and the older I get, the faster it goes!!!

I have some fun things still to come for December.....

....a darling rolly polly little girl which I just adore....I can not wait to share her photos!!!! I loved her session not only because she is such a cute little sweetie, but because both my munchkins were (and still are) tiny, skinny, stick kids.....no baby rolls to be found ever! Well....I suppose that's not true....with sissy being a 9+ lb baby she had a few rolls for the first month....then she lost all her chub and went straight to stick baby. So stay tuned this week for a sneak peek of a darling little cherub.

....a newborn session sometime in December....my favorite kind of session! I am so excited to meet this little guy and capture him with his family!

Last weekend I got to take pictures of this cute little guy, Mr. D. I went to high school with his mama and it is always fun to see the children of people I knew when I was a child myself! Mr "D" was not too sure about me at first....actually would almost start crying when I got too close to him.......but I slowly grew on him.....and it wasn't until I asked him if he was a growly bear today, did he warm up to me!!! My sweet little growly bear.....I had so much fun with you!

A Little Piece of Heaven ~ North Idaho Family Photographer

A couple months ago I got a call from a sweet gal in California and she was wanting to get family photos taken while they were up in Idaho over Thanksgiving. We had our session last weekend at their family cabin and it was great! Their home was absolutly beautiful! Their family is absolutley beautiful! And the love they all have for each other is.....yep, you guessed it....absolutely beautiful!!! I truly enjoyed every minute of our session....and I had a really hard time picking my favorites for the sneak peek because I just had so many! BUT, I narrowed it down to these......

These photos are extra special because I was informed that they are "beach people"......they LOVE the beach. But for a while on their visits to North Idaho.....they leave that "beach family" behind in CA and out come the cowboy hats, cowboy/girl boots, hikes thru the woods, and even their horse! Just their family together, with no stresses, out in the wilderness, enjoying just a little piece of heaven!

Last weekend I had a super fun session with these two darling newlyweds. This session was super special......first of all, because I am related to this stunning beauty and we have known each other all our lives....and second, her new husband Mick Croon is a musician and the session was really for him to get pictures for his website and possibly a cd cover! BUT, I couldn't resist getting some cute couple pictures....and they were all for it! We had so much fun, even though it was freezing cold out that day! I swear I must have laughed almost the entire time! These two are just darling together!

With pumpkin pies baking in the oven, my babies watching their favorite Christmas movies, and my husband out hunting to provide us food, I am overcome by a feeling of happiness. I am so very blessed and thank God that I am here and alive to enjoy this wonderful holiday. Hi! I am still here! I know I have been a big slacker on posting lately....so the blog has been a bit stale.....ugh. Sorry about that......BUT that's all going to change over the next couple of weeks!!! I had an amazing session last weekend and three more coming up this weekend! So there will be plenty of new pictures coming your way! I can't wait!

This September my sister flew home from Cali and my mom wanted to get some family photos since she is not coming home for Christmas.....Rar! Aunt Jen!.....and of course I wanted some family photos too! I can't say I am the biggest fan of being on the other side of the camera....but I do want some documentation of me with my family proving that I did exist! So I asked my good friend Jackie from Jax-Creations if she would come down to Garfield Bay and take some pictures of our crazy family! She said yes and I don't think she knew what she was getting herself into! We are quite a bunch...that's for sure! I am so glad she did! Thanks so much Jackie! We had lots of fun....and it was so nice to be the one NOT taking pictures!!! Here are some from our session....

Girls just wanna have fun!!!!!

That is so true! Last weekend I had a super fun session with a bunch of awesome girls! You may remember the BEAUTY in the turquoise shirt from a prior session where we took photos for her upcoming 15th birthday.....this time, we added all her friends.....the girls that will be in her court for her birthday party! These girls were a hoot and had me laughing so hard my tummy hurt! We had some big adventures and great laughs....like trying to get them to be serious....it was next to impossible! Giggly girls? Uh yeah....that was an understatement! They were so silly and just super fun!!! I had a blast!

If you haven't seen anything like this before....definitely worth checking out! I have heard of this.....but have never seen it....until my good friend emailed me videos of her niece swimming!! She's the little girl in the 12-24 mo old videos....absolutely amazing!!!! I got goosebumps and all teary eyed watching this! I wish they had something like this up here......it's just INCREDIBLE!!!

Last weekend I had an awesome session with Mr "R"......a fun, happy, darling, little baby. I could have spent the entire day with him! Finally.....the pink hat....for the sweetest little angel......

This little girl has the sweetest little lips....I just love them in all her photos!

I am so glad the hat came late.....or else I would not have gotten these photos of her at one mo old....these next few she is showing me how strong she is! She could pretty much hold herself up! She thinks that's funny.....or maybe she's laughing at me? That's OK.......there's nothing better than baby smiles!

Ok.....so I have to say I think I like the full frame version better! This little guy has the funniest looks! I am sure if he could talk like an adult he would be saying...."Look Lady, I am not your stinkin puppet! Rar!" or......he might be saying, "I'll get you for this sucka!" No, no, no....he's really thinking I LOVE my auntie Staci! Yep...I am positive that's what he's thinking! :-)

What a sweetheart!!!

I took these pictures of "big brother" last week when I went to go and "finish" my newborn session of his sister. Let me explain "finish"...........when I found out that I was going to get to take pictures of my cousin's baby I was estatic! I immediately bought this darling pink hat specifically for that session.....however it didn't arrive until last week! ack! So instead of the hat for her newborn pictures I got other adorable pictures of her.......her hanging in cloth from a tree branch like a little angel, her adorable tiny feet, and her sleeping so peacefully in a planting pot.....that session I said forget the hat.....because instead I got pictures that I was super happy with and very excited about! When the hat arrived in the mail last week, I called their mama and asked her if I could come out and take some more pictures of baby G in the hat....she said yes! and we were both happy!!! Now baby G is one month old.....so strong already holding herself up....and still oh so beautiful!!!

Oh....I'm sorry...did you think I was going to post the pink hat today? Nope....he he he....have to come back tomorrow to see more!!!! See you then!!!

Last Saturday I had a super fun session with this darling little girl. We were hoping to wander around downtown after visiting the healing garden, but 30 minutes into our session it started to down pour! Luckily, Miss Ella was so excited to have her pictures taken she was the perfect model....so we cruised thru the session!

Greetings friends!

Just wanted to let you all know that I only have one session left for November....I know!...it's crazy!.......but good. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! to everyone that has shown interest in my photography, read my blog, scheduled a session, or referred me to friends and family. I appreciate it more than you know!! I am a little sad to be taking December off because I LOVE my clients and my job....but I LOVE my munchkins and Lovie too and can't wait to really just get to hang out with them.....do our Christmas crafts, decorating, baking...all the wonderful fun stuff we do every year.

So....if you are wanting a session before Christmas please call me asap! Also....if there is enough interest I may schedule a day of mini sessions at the end of November...but I won't know until I hear from you!!! And if there are cancellations I will post those as well. As always I do take newborns under two weeks ANYTIME....so if you have a little one coming soon....please contact me so I can schedule appropriately.

I thought I was done posting for today, until I got on facebook and saw this link posted by my friend Julie....and I just had to share.

This is an AMAZING song....an AMAZING tribute....for an AMAZING woman. A strong amazing woman diagnosed with breast cancer the same day she found out she was pregnant....a strong amazing woman I have known for years....played volleyball with.....and still continue to be inspired by her and her journey. Although I only saw her or her family occassionally after high school......her leaving this life has affected me greatly....and although her body is gone....her spirit lives on in many hearts.....and she has done GREAT things! Jenny....you are and continue to be, an inspiration to many! Thank You.

Greetings! The holidays are fast approaching and I wanted to let all of you know that I will be taking all of December off (exept newborns under two weeks) to spend time with my family! So no sessions until the new year arrives! I do have a few left available for November.....so if you are wanting pictures before the holidays please contact me asap to ensure a spot! Although I will not be doing sessions in December, I will be taking orders until Saturday, December 5th.

Not sure about all of you, but I for one have been completely overwhelmed with emotion about the swine flu vaccine. Although I won't be posting about our decision (you can email me if you want to know more), I will say that it has caused some stress and concern among our family and friends. SO.......I thought I would lighten all of us up with some goofy photos! Please keep in mind these were taken last night with HORRID overhead lighting.......NO natural lighting...... so they may look a tad different (aka awful coloring) than what you usually see of my work.....BUT the main goal of these next three photos is NOT to impress you.....but to make you smile, giggle, or just laugh out loud!!!!!

These little farts decided to be silly and put on mama's glasses to make us laugh...and they succeeded! Is it me....or could this kid actually play the part of Ralphie on "The Christmas Story?

This weekend I finished up editing my wedding and wanted to share some more of my favorites.......this bride is just so gorgeous!

These next three crack me up.....I was trying to get the groom to lean his forehead against the bride's forehead and have her look over at me.....just going for something kind of romantic.......just setting up a "pose" which I like to do sometimes......but each time he leaned over, it ended up being so awkward that all three of us just burst into giggles....and we couldn't stop laughing...so we had to forget that "pose" or we might have missed the boat! We didn't get the shot I was going for....BUT got these gems instead....and I love them even more!

And then I got these....they all have to go together because they tell such a beautiful love story.....

And THAT is what I love to do.....capture and tell your love story!

Last week I was so excited to take pictures of this darling little girl! She is so beautiful and not only is it ALWAYS a special treat to get to take pictures of newborns....but a super special treat to get to take pictures of newborns that are family! Her daddy (and her uncle too) is the closest thing I have to a brother so basically this little angel is my niece. And I think she is absolutely FABULOUS!

Last weekend at the bridal fair I met so many nice and fun people! The brides....the vendors....the guests.....everyone! But one gal....my "booth" neighbor Nichole, was super awesome and super fun! Nichole is the owner of BLOOM and she is a fabulous floral designer! I was just in love with her flowers! So much so that at the end of the day she actually gave me one of the bouquets!!!! It was gorgeous!!!! Thanks so much Nichole!

AND she hired me that day to do some product shots for her (right at her booth!) so she could use them for her advertising! How cool is that!?!? If you or someone you know need flowers for any event, please give her a call.....she really is amazing!

Last weekend I had the most amazing session with this beauty.....not only was it awesome to get to visit with her mama after many years (another girlie from the vb posse)....but my camera literally LOVED her. Taylor is one of those girls that stops you in your tracks with her beauty. Her looks are well beyond her years....and looking at these photos, if you told me she was a 7th grader I would say "Yeah Right!" I sure as heck don't remember anyone looking remotely close to this as a 7th grader!!! I just can not get over how gorgeous she is!

Good Morning

Good Morning! The Bridal show yesterday was great! I met some awesome people and will tell you more on that later. But first, I want to thank Connie and Anna again from Unwind Spa for being so generous in their donation of a pedicure and manicure package. That was seriously too cool! We were all ready to head down to the spa for a foot soak after the event....my feet were killing me! And I also want to thank my mama for coming down and hanging out with me all day! My mom is the best.....AND she took me out to dinner afterwards!!! Woo Hoo! Thanks mom! I love you! My little angels missed their mama and lots of hugs and loves for me when I got home....which I LOVE! Those are the best! Early to bed and late to rise and I am feeling much better. After a cup of coffee I will be good to go!

My lovie fared well yesterday....it was good for him to get to hang out with the kids all day. It is good for all four of us for mama to get away once in a while! And today he is off to town to get the rest of the materials to start building my green house! I just can't believe it! Now mind you, I have wanted a green house for just about EVER! BUT, he was the one to take charge and get the ball rolling. He got a little bit done yesterday and when I peeked out this morning to see this is what I saw......

...the most beautiful sun flare shining down on my garden. It was such a wonderful sight.....I had to share. Just some corner posts up for now...the work table in place...and some fallen trees that need to be cut and piled....but it won't be much longer......I am loved....and I couldn't feel more blessed or thankful....Life is GOOD.......God is GOOD!

The minute I saw these hats (and Owen's shirt) I fell in LOVE and just had to have them!!! Of course I did a photo shoot with the kids and their new hats back in August (gasp!).......I know, I know.....I am so behind!!! ACK! Anyways, I still have not edited that session....but I did edit these two for the yearly Gap photo contest. Sweet Boy ~ North Idaho Family Photographer

I was so super excited when my girl friend Camille from Fairytales asked me to take pictures of her little guy. I just LOVE her store (that's for another post) and think she is absolutely stunning and just the sweetest.....and her little guy is just darling! And boy did he make me work!!! I couldn't get him to crack a smile for nothing! It took awhile for him to warm up to me....but.....I am just too goofy that he couldn't resist....muwahahaha!!!

Thank you guys so much for having me out to take your family photos! I had so much fun and your "sweet boy" is so precious! Here is your sneak peek!!! Enjoy! :-)

Well....it's been a crazy and very productive weekend! Finished up my canning for the year....completed my holiday products and got those posted.....and just finished up editing a session! Woo Hoo! Last week I had the great pleasure of taking photos of three very active and FUN boys! The session was awesome not only because they are great kids and they loved having their photos taken....but also because their parents are friends of ours and very dear to me....especially their mama! Her and I go way back (I won't say how far...can't age us now can I?)......but, way back to the good old volleyball days. It was great catching up and so fun to see how the boys have grown!

Remember Sweet Girl from my last post??? I thought you would....she is just TOO CUTE to forget! Last weekend was her 2nd birthday and her awesome mama asked me to come and celebrate Miss "S's" special day! And what a party it was! Check out this princess cake!!! Super cool!

And of course you just can not put THREE cakes in front of a two year old without her getting a quick taste! Or two.....

So yummy!

I know this is a little girl's birthday and PINK is THE color! But for some reason I just loved the black and whites for this party....these next two are my absolute favorites! Having a tasty nibble and looking at me like...what? It's my party!

The birthday girl was stylin with these adorable boots!! I just adore little girls and their boots....there's just somthing so sweet and sassy about them!

Meet Mr. "C"......a.k.a.........The Ham.......I had a session with The Ham and his older and younger brother tonight and we had so much fun!!! It was an awesome session.....just one that made me giggle like crazy and my heart sing! And when I got home and looked at the pictures, I HAD to edit just one. This adorable little guy and I could be best friends.....he LOVED getting his picture taken....and he is so cute to boot! And his brothers are just as cute....but you will have to wait to see them......but for now......Look at those eyes! Love them! And the dimples? Sigh....all three have them....watch out girls!

So.....after the session and falling in love with all three of the boys.....I was thinking.....that The Ham is 5.....and Bella is 2.5.....hmmmm.....maybe in 20 years these two just might have to "meet"......hee hee

Finally! Wedding pictures! I know some of you have been waiting patiently to see just a few.....and I have been waiting patiently to post just a few! Well....sort of. I am not completely done editing....but wanted to share some of my favorites that I have done so far. I just couldn't wait until I was completely finished. There will be more....and a slide show featured next month!

This wedding could not have been more perfect. The bride was gorgeous....AND relaxed! Which set the tone for the entire day....you are amazing! The groom was oh so handsome and completely laid back. The families were awesome and so ready to have fun......a special thanks to Wendy.......all your girls are gorgeous and without you none of these photos would be possible!!!! Thanks for trusting me and believing in me!!! The weather cooperated and it really could not have been nicer. My awesome friend Crystal came out to help coordinate group photos...thanks Crystal! And the photographer.....well.....she's one lucky girl!!! I could not have asked for a better "first" wedding. Thank you so much Mr & Mrs Murphy for having me take your photos!!! You two are AWESOME!!!!

So far it has taken me an hour to write this post.....I wanted to narrate it somehow....but it's just not working out how I want......everything I type just doesn't seem right. Breathe ~ North Idaho Wedding Photographer

I can now breathe....I photographed my first wedding on Saturday and it went great! Friday night I was a mess.....I couldn't breathe...my stomach hurt...I was shaky....just a mess! I was so nervous for this wedding...my first one!!! So many thoughts running thru my head.....checking and rechecking everything a hundred times and I really was just not feeling quite myself....so.....I decided to run off the nerves! After a half hour on the treadmill I felt a little better. Two pep talks from my good photog friends Crystal and Jackie and things were looking brighter. But I still needed something to calm me.....so I tried a rootbeer float....yum! Still not there. Then an ice cream sandwich......and voila! I was fine....and so ready to shoot this wedding! Goodbye nerves......we were never really friends anyways....and HELLO wedding!

It could not have been a more perfect day.....a more perfect setting....nor a more perfect bride, groom, friends, and families! I am just giddy over the entire event and am in the process of editing a few as fast as I can so the bride and groom have some for their reception this upcoming weekend. I WAS going to wait to post any....but she just takes my breath away....I couldn't wait.....they always say the bride is beautiful.....but my bride is BEAUTIFUL.....AND THEN SOME! Just a little eye candy to start off your week!

First Day of School ~ My Memories

Yesterday was the first day of preschool for the Big "O". Preschool?!?!?! I just can't believe how fast it's gone.....seems like yesterday he was this tiny little baby. My handsome is growing up fast! And he has been referring to himself as "Big Owen" lately....cracks me up!

And although he is growing up fast......he still has this same loook year after year! Not sure what to call it....but I love it! Those big round eyes.....I hope he NEVER outgrows them!

Prying the door open with his "knife"! ACK! He's all boy! Don't worry....his hat and "knife" had to stay in the truck during school!

And sissy ready to go to school too! She's a mess......a face plant in the sand while camping led to scrapes on her nose and upper lip.....her leg pant up.......and boots on the wrong feet......just a beautiful mess........

Little did she know......big kid preschool is only for Owen....but we did have fun girl time while Owen was at his first day of preschool..............she did some coloring while I waded thru a foot of mail........she colored for an hour! Just happy as can be.......with her purple crayon and her princess color book!

And then we went to the beach....took a walk and then played on the toys....

First personal photos I have edited forever it seems.....tapped into some of my older actions just for fun......love to play around with different processing........

She had so much fun going down the slide!

And climbing thru the tunnell.....this was the only picture I got of her looking at me in the tunnell......she looks a little scared here, but she really had fun in that tunnell! Big stuff!

All in all a good day! Owen liked preschool......even though he did hide under the chair with another little boy during storytime....I think that's all part of him adjusting? He was a little bummed that he "only got popcorn and raisins" for a snack....not sure what he was expecting there? LOL

Sissy missed her brother like crazy....she wanted to "go to Owen's preschool!"...but she had fun with mama. When it was time to go get Owen I didn't have to tell her twice it was time to go. Owen is much more important than the silly park!

And as for me? It was great! I loved the one on one time with Bella and am super excited for Owen to begin this new chapter of his life! I only wish we lived closer so I could come home during his school time.....oh well......I will just have to get creative this fall!!!

Going to try and catch up on my editing and posting......not sure how that will go with my first wedding coming up this weekend.....but I do HAVE to document our camping trip.....it was a doozy! And I have officially renamed us "The Griswald's" for all future camping trips! Oh yeah.....the "Blankie" that got lost at Sam Owen's??? Uh Yeah....out in the camper the entire time! Sissy was thrilled when we gave it to her! Not sure if we should have done that or not? But I don't care....I did what my heart told me to do......or she's spoiled. Hhhmmm? The verdict is still out on that one!

Happy Holiday Weekend!

A couple weeks ago, my photographer friend did an ice-cream session at a local ice cream shop and unfortunately I was not able to go......BUT thought her pictures turned out so cute, I wanted to get some of my own pictures of my little munchkins grubbin on some ice cream. So, we had ice cream cones for lunch one day at Sandy's Sugar Shack in the mall. It was so much fun to watch the kids....they loved every minute of it!

September? WHAT??? ALREADY?

Yep....Happy September. Summer is officially over....and fall is beginning.....how fast the seasons change. School starting....the leaves changing colors....the gardens tampering off.....cooler beautiful weather.......all of it is just right around the corner! Yeah!

I thought August was a busy month...but it looks like September is going to be a crazy busy month for Staci Bailey Photography. I am already booked...for the entire month! I may have one or two openings available for last minute senior shoots....or of course a newborn under 2 weeks.....I always have time for the newbies! TOT ~ Teams of Tomorrow

This is a fun program that was around this area last year and the gal that was the director moved out of state.....so, my friend Monica decided to take it over since her little boy loved the program so much. It is a program that focuses in on basketball skills and combines that with educational concepts. I have never been to a class, but am super excited she is heading it up this year! It looks like a ton of fun and both Owen and Bella will be attending once a week!!! Last week I had the best session with two of the cutest little boys! We had so much fun!!! We went on a grass hopper hunt, road bikes around the driveway, drew with chalk, played on the swing set, played follow the leader, chase, and red light-green light, AND we saw 3 air planes fly over....which was super awesome because the oldest one LOVES planes! Check out his hand in each photo....he's holding a plane in EVERY one!!! A little detail in their pictures that I am sure mom and dad will cherish forever...it's just such a part of him. We had such grand adventures and it was so awesome to hang out with them! They both have such different and great personalities and they both stole a piece of my heart! Last week I had the great pleasure of taking photos of two of the cutest little boys. This spring I donated a free session to be auctioned off at the last 2008-2009 MOPS meeting and was thrilled when my friend Cindi won! I have known Cindi for the last three years from MOPS and just love her! She is so much fun and her boys are too! They are pretty close to the same age as my little rugrats and it has been fun watching them grow! We had big adventures at our session including a grass hopper hunt and some stinky feet! EWE! Happy August ~ North Idaho Photographer

If you read this blog, you might know a little bit about the born and raised North Idaho girl you hire to take your pictures and capture your angels, your love, and your life. If you read this blog, you know I had Melanoma skin cancer at a young age and "whooped it's butt" as my son says. You know that my husband and children are my life. And you know I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to take pictures.

What you might not know is that once upon a time I loved volleyball....played year round since I was 9 and went on to play in college....a 4 year starter and ranked #7 in the nation for Division II assists....Woop! Woop!...ahhhhh...the good ole days. I love to read ~ especially anything about being healthy and I love to work out. I love camping and swimming.....and I LOVE S'mores!!! Really LOVE them! I love to cook from scratch. And one of my favorite, favorite hobbies is gardening. I wish I was a good flower gardener....I really like flowers....but I like my vegetable garden even more! And even though summer is not a good time of year for me since the sun is so strong and out so long....it is an awesome time for me because of my garden! So with that said........I am going to mix it up a bit and share a little bit more of me with you!

Can you believe it's August already??? I can't! Where did this year go? I have no idea...but it's going too fast! But although time is going fast.....it is one of my favorite times of year.....garden season!!! Last year Ryan built me a compost bin out of some rough lumber my grandparents gave us and my garden must have loved it because it is just gorgeous this year! I love that compost bin.....my garden must love it......and this little guy loves it too! It's not a snake, but a weird lizard thingie. He's right above the "P" in Photography. Ewe. I have seen him two days in a row out by the bin.....one day next to it...the next day in it! But since I scared him off I haven't seen him around......

Along with composting comes watering.....and tonight when I went to turn on the water to water the garden I saw a SNAKE! An ickie black and yellow SNAKE! ACK! So of course I screamed and ran away....told Ryan to turn on the water and chase that snake away. He did of course and laughed at me the whole time....sissy girl....damn right I am. No thank you to snakes. That fortunately has been the first and hopefully last one I see out here!

On to better news......this is my lettuce patch...that sounds like rabbit from Winnie the Pooh..he he.....we have enjoyed a fresh salad every week all summer....and next to it out of the picture is my spinach, kale, and chard which I have enjoyed every morning in my smoothies!

And the peas.....I never plant enough peas....we could have eaten them all day every day......

One of my first bowls of raspberries at the begining of July....not much there that day.....but there were lots afterwards....made two batches of jam (one seedless which is amazing!)....some raspberry salsa......and ate bowlfuls every day for the last few weeks....the bees pretty much stayed out of them this year......thank God! The kids and I prayed every day to thank God for our wonderful garden and to please keep the bees out of our raspberries this year....and every day when we went to go pick raspberries Owen always said in wonder "God heard us! The bees didn't get the raspberries!" And so he did hear us.........

Last year I learned how to make sourkraut from Ryan's parents and it was SO GOOD! So this year I was super excited to grow some cabbage and make some more! For some reason my cauliflower and cabbage went crazy and peaked early....but you won't hear me complaining! You can see how big this one was....they pretty much were all this size....I was so happy! I ended up using 4 heads of cabbage and getting 15 pints of sourkraut (one broke in processing) and I have another 6 head in the garden........

Sissy thought the cabbage was pretty neat....but eating it....well, that's another story!

Every year I grow zucchini and summer squash and last year (like everything else in the garden) was not a great year for my squash. This year however they are crazy!

These are just from Monday of this week.....had one in the fridge......and I just picked 2 more today! So 9 in a week! Oh yeah! I made some zucchini bread and zucchini relish today...also had grilled zucchini with dinner....yum!

And drum roll please..........a heaping bowl of pickling cucumbers! Picked these Friday night and made the first batch of pickles for the year......so glad the cucumbers are looking good because we are on our last jar of pickles.......looks like many more to come!

And of course that's not all.....I have green beans growing....beets.....kohlrabi.....strawberries....onions.....garlic.....horseradish.......tomatoes.......5 different kinds of peppers......eating cucumbers.......carrots......potatoes......dill......cilantro.......hmmmmm? What else? That might be it....or there might be more....can't think of anything else right now.....but all I know is that we have been so blessed this summer with lots of wonderful food from the garden! I am just giddy over how wonderful the garden has done this year. And it's not over yet! Lots of pickles, salsa, and green beans to still be canned. And oh yes.....it's apple year! My grandparents apples trees are loaded this year and so I will be making and canning applesauce and apple pie filling like a mad woman in just a few weeks! We truly have been blessed.......

But don't worry.....I will still have time to take pictures!!! I hope you enjoyed a little peek into my life!

I was so honored and excited to take pictures of the Derr side of my family. I don't get to see them much so this was a special treat for me! They all gathered together for a fun BBQ and asked me to come over and take pictures! We had so much fun and I just loved seeing the kids and how much they have grown....and I especially love seeing their parents (and aunts) features in each of them! Last month my good friend Jackie from Jax-Creations asked me if I would take photos of her and the newest edition to their family.......Charlie Joe.....and of course I was estatic! How could I not? Being a photographer myself I know it's hard to be on the other side of the camera....but SO IMPORTANT! I was super happy when Jackie wanted ME! to document her and her sweet little angel. He is SO CUTE! Just look at him.....a little angel......

He was just a little sweetheart....slept most of the time except for a little bit....saw me and my camera and I guess that's why he's sticking his tongue out!

How tiny they are.....

The smooth chubby cheeks, the back and arm fuzz, the constant curled little fists, the belly rolls.........all the sweet wonderful little things that we NEVER want to forget.....

And that hair! This little guy has the perfect hair!

And of course there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes at a photo session! Miss Bells being the big helper and telling everyone to be quiet! The baby is sleeping!

And hilarious silliness over peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! I guess she forgot about being quiet!

Thank you so much Jackie for having me over to capture such a precious time in your life! I truly enjoyed every moment of it!

It sure was nice getting the rain last night....but the thunder and lightning went on and on and on....kept me up for about 3 hours last night!

My handsome.....(with a grubby face I see).......playing in the rain......what I wouldn't give to know what he is thinking at that moment........

Ah....to be a kid again.....finding such joy in the little things......

Sweet Angel Baby ~ North Idaho Photographer

Happy Monday!

I had the best weekend......started off with a senior shoot on Saturday with the most beautiful girl inside and out....I mean seriously....this girl could be on the cover of magazines....and she is SO SWEET! We had so much fun........I can not wait to post her sneek peek.........

And then on Sunday was Jacey's Race and it was AMAZING!!! There was an incredible turn out to support the two beneficiaries and the race is such a great cause. I feel so blessed to be able to help and participate in something like this, just makes you feel so good in so many ways...to be able to help someone else in such a crazy and hard time and also get your exercise in....it's just a win win situation. Thank you Jacey's Race for asking me to be a vendor!

I must say that I did get very emotional a couple of times.....one thing that just stands out is when cute little 7 year old Decker, bless his heart, got up at the end of the event and thanked everyone for "helping him pay for his cancer".....to me, the words "my cancer" should NEVER have to come out of a 7 year olds mouth.....or a 19 year olds mouth......or any age really......but they did....and him and Nate are so strong and such an inspiration....fighters.....they both remind me of my two favorite sayings......"LIVE STRONG" & "CELEBRATE LIFE"..........I wish health, happiness, safety, and love for both of them always!

The weekend is over....and the beginning of a new week is here.....Monday. Monday's are good.....and today is really good because I get to post not only about a great weekend....but also about my baby collections. Introducing my Sweet Angel Baby collections.........

Isn't she a doll? This is Miss Piper....and she is so cute. I got to take some pictures of her over the 4th and asked her mama if I could use her as my poster baby for the Sweet Angel Baby collection announcement.....not only because she is just darling....but because she is going to be turning 1 year old next month and I can not believe it! Time is flying by much too fast. And that single statement is my inspiration for the Sweet Angel Baby Collections.

Jacey's Race ~ North Idaho Childrens Photographer

I am so excited that this year I am going to be an EXPO vendor at Jacey's Race! This will be my 2nd year as a vendor...but my first year as a vendor for Staci Bailey Photography! Jacey's race is an awesome community fund raising event and along with other great donations up for auction to help benefit this amazing event, I will be donating a photo sessio (for up to 4 people) and a free 8x10!!! What better way to donate to a wonderful cause and get something in return....priceless photos! Family photos ~ senior photos ~ maternity, baby, or children's portraits ~ engagement session....you name it....let's do it!

Want to know more? Check this out............Jacey's Race is a 5K and 1K run/walk event to raise awareness and money for children suffering from a life threatening illness. The first event was held in Boulder, Colorado to benefit Jacey Lawson, a 4 year old child with stage 4 cancer. I can't even imagine. But, following lung and kidney surgery, radiation, and 1 year of chemotherapy, Jacey is happy, healthy, and living in Sandpoint, Idaho. Jacey and her family are grateful for the support they received when needed, and her family and friends have decided to continue the race so that others may benefit.

This year's race is going to be held on Sunday, July 12th, 2009 at Sandpoint High School starting at 8:15 a.m... The 2009 beneficiaries are Decker Weill and Nate Rench. Decker is a 7 year old boy with neuroblastoma and he has been in active treatment for a little over a year now. Decker and his family live in Sagle and travel to Spokane and Seattle for Decker's life saving treatments. Nate is a University of Idaho college student that was diagnosed with testicular cancer at the young age of 19. He lives with his family in Sandpoint and is able to receive his medical care from the Kootenai Cancer Center at Bonner General in Sandpoint.

My heart goes out to these boys and their families. Being a cancer survivor myself, I know that this is not an easy road....and their lives will be changed forever. I can not think of a better way to CELEBRATE LIFE than by supporting these families thru this event. Please join us Sunday for a healthy dose of exercise and fun!!!!

Passports & Daddy's Girl ~ North Idaho Photographer

What? I know, the title is messed up.....but it will make sense if you keep reading!

Just wanted to announce that I take passport photos if you are planning on doing any traveling! I take them on location as well and it takes about a week to get your photos. I recently did a passport photo for my grandparents good friend Dave. We all went to lunch at the Beach House and then I took his passport photo right in the parking lot!!! And since passport photos aren't the most fun (sorry Dave), I am posting a few of daddy's girl from this weekend. Bella and Owen were playing on their slip and slide and she ended up getting super cold, so her daddy wrapped her up in a towel and snuggled with her in the sun until she warmed up. The love these two have for each other warms my heart....there is so much truth to the phrase "daddy's girl"........

And the color one.....I couldn't decide which one to post......I love them both!

This poor girl was freezing! She was so cold her little lips were turning a tad blue as well as her arms and legs.....I know, that's awful....but YOU try getting two little kids away from their very first slip and slide! Not an easy task! Hee Hee Thank goodness for daddy to warm her up! Our sweet girl......

Happy Friday!

Today......my son turns 4.

The power of a picture..........

The feeling you get when you find out you are having your first baby is incredible.....and so magical......it's something I will NEVER forget.... the minute we saw our 20 week ultrasound we knew what his name would be instantly and fell even more in love once we could "see" him. It took him 3 long painful days to come into this world....but he was the sweetest little baby.....and now is a smart, handsome, funny, energetic, and strong (physically and personality wise) big boy!

I take pictures because I treasure them so much......I take pictures so I can remember every detail of his life....him growing inside my belly......those first minutes of life.....his soft cry.....his amazing big blue eyes and sinfully wrong for a boy curly long eyelashes.....his adorable chubby cheeks...his strong confident personality.......all the things I love about him........the things that all mama's LOVE about their babies...... and when he is all grown up and off to start his own adventures with life, his mama's heart will be breaking as this new chapter begins for all of us, BUT I will have my pictures and I will be able to go back in time and remember..........the feeling of him moving in my tummy.......how tiny he felt in my arms.......the way he smelled....how soft his cheeks were and how many times I kissed them.......the accomplishments.......the sports and events......and all the emotions that go with each and every memory.......all of it.

I take pictures because they are the key to the door we call our past.......I started a business so I could share that key with others.

I made a picture/video slideshow with music for my angel bug especially for his 4th birthday and some of you may have already seen it.....I left it up on the blog for a few days for family and friends to view. It is no longer available to view........but stay tuned....I am going to be offering some awesome new products very soon that will include photo slideshows with music and some other GREAT stuff!!! And who knows.....maybe one day some slideshows with video too......I mean, I'm just saying you never know...................tee hee
